Step 1. Open a Web Browser; e.g. Google Chrome
Step 2. Type the IP address of the modem in the browser address bar. The IP address for this modem is 192.168.1.1
Step 3. On the login screen, enter “user” for the User Name and “user” for the Password. Select “Login”
Step 4. On initial login, the following page will be displayed for you to change your password from the default “user”. We recommend that you change your password. To change the password:
- Enter a new password
- Retype it to confirm, then select “apply”
Alternatively, you may select “ignore” to proceed to the main menu if you do not wish to change your password. If “ignore” is selected, you will always receive the “change password screen” until the default password is changed.
Step 5. If you forgot your password, or you cannot access the Web Configurator, you will be required to use the reset button located at the back of your modem, to reload the factory-default configuration settings. This means you will lose all previous configurations, and the password will be reset to “user”.
- Make sure the power light is on and not blinking (steady).
- Hold down the reset button for 10-15 seconds or until the power light and the LAN outlet lights on the ports on the back of the modem begin to blink, and then release it.
When the lights begin to blink, the default settings have been restored and the device restarts.
Step 6. When you login to the Web Configurator, the default home Page will be shown as below. From here, you can access shortcuts used to manipulate the functions of the modem.
Step 7. Click on Advanced>>Wi-Fi Configuration>>General
Step 8. Enable the Wi-Fi signal by clicking in the check-box beside “Active Wireless”
Step 9. Change the Network Name (SSID) to a name of your choice.
Step 10. Select “WPA2-PSK” for the Security Level. This prevents unauthorized persons from accessing your Wi-Fi network.
Step 11. Create your wireless password.
Step 12. Click “Apply” to save the settings.
